About This Role

Lightstream is looking for a junior Front-End Developer who is motivated to code pixel-perfect websites primarily within WordPress, static landing pages, and HTML emails. You will be responsible for using your knowledge of programming languages to code user-friendly and responsive websites, running tests to ensure code accuracy, and ensuring the sites are WCAG (2.1) compliant. You will work with the UI/UX designer and bridge the gap between graphic design and technical implementation, taking an active role on both sides and defining how the application looks as well as how it works.

Responsibilities:

• Assist senior developers with populating content on WordPress websites
• Develop programming code for assigned web projects based on creative and marketing strategies stated in approved proposals
• Optimize websites for maximum speed and scalability
• Test programming to ensure functionality for active websites
• Post-test and approve coded data on active websites
• Regularly update active websites maintained by the agency, both by programming code for new information and updating existing code to ensure sites stay functional as technology changes
• Stay current on all front-end development technology trends and communicate regularly with webmaster regarding training needs or hardware and software upgrades to keep the agency on the leading edge of interactive design
• Inform webmaster if server problems occur on any agency-managed or -maintained interactive properties; help resolve all such problems
• Perform frequent backups of all agency intranet/web-based projects using on-site and off-site storage resources
• Assists senior developers with ongoing tasks
