Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline w/ 8+ years of relevant experience or Master’s Degree in a related discipline w/ 6+ years. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Public Trust Clearance
  • Must have experience as a Cloud Engineer (AWS or Azure) to include tasks such as cloud migration, cloud networking, IAM, cloud optimization, and deployment automation (Infrastructure as Code).
  • Experience with cloud-first, AWS native architectures and cloud PaaS & SaaS services such as databases
  • Proficient with Python or equivalent programming language
  • Experience with building and managing CI/CD pipelines and tools
  • Must be committed to adopting and adhering to best practices.
  • Must be able to effectively plan and prioritize tasking.
  • Must be capable of performing high quality work both independently, and with a team, in a fast-moving environment.
  • Ability to interact positively, collaborate and communicate appropriately with team members

Must have a US Citizenship

  • Must be able to obtain a SECRET clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge in complex application integration
  • Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent.
  • AWS or Azure certifications, Professional desired, or associates with additional experience.
  • CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification

Slight preference for individual who lives within commutable distance to Blacksburg, Virginia. Candidates in proximity will be expected to report into the office 2 days per week.

Job Summary

The 1901 Group, a division in the Enterprise and Cyber Solutions (E&CS) Operation within Leidos’ Defense Group, has an opening for a DevOps Engineer to support multiple customer and internal engineering initiatives. This role is primary or full time remote based on candidate’s location. The 1901 Engineering team requires DevOps engineers to support projects involving, but not limited to, cloud migration, application containerization, pipeline implementation and management, infrastructure as code development, and automation development.

Primary Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • After your initial onboarding and acclimation to the team you will be training, both independently and with the team, to gain knowledge about 1901 cloud CI/CD designs, processes, and migration approach
  • Working in an Agile process to plan your work into 2 week sprints and participate in daily scrum meetings
  • Creating cloud development pipeline designs, implementation plans, operational documentation, and continual improvement of cloud services
  • Conducting cloud assessment, planning, and migration activities for varied application sets
  • Evaluate and recommend potential cloud solutions for inclusion into customer cloud service offerings and application migration solutions
  • Work with teams across 1901 group and customers to understand Infrastructure as Code (IaC) requirements for upcoming projects
  • Create IaC and automation capabilities for both internal and external customers
  • Design and implement cloud-based deployment solutions for enterprise applications

Pay Range:

Pay Range $97,500.00 - $150,000.00 - $202,500.00
