We are seeking a* Senior Backend Developer* to support the Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM) Program at USCIS.
Position Responsibilities:
- Participate as a developer on an agile development team of 6-10 people, delivering high quality mission critical applications using modern application frameworks, cloud services, and DevSecOps pipelines.
- Work with developers, product managers, designers, and stakeholders, making decisions together to quickly deliver valuable working software to clients and their users.
- Develop and commit code daily using code repository while complying with strategic branch management strategy used across code contributors.
- Deliver high-quality, reliable, and maintainable code.
- Work with cloud and platform engineering team for environment optimization, system testing, configuration, and deployment.
- Develop and deploy performant applications with reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
- Analyze system designs and identify opportunities for system optimization or the application of emergent design patterns (e.g., microservices)
- Participate in full scrum lifecycle processes including sprint planning, user story estimation, backlog grooming, and demonstration of functionality at sprint reviews.
- Support, guide, and mentor other developers on the team and across the organization.
