Required Experience

  • MS OS versions (5+ years)
  • MS IIS versions (5+ years)
  • DNS, SSL (4+ years)
  • Clustering and Distributed File System (4+ years)
  • VMware/virtualization (4+ years)
  • Repliweb or code deployment system (4+ years)
  • Web services - configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and problem solving.
  • Understanding of core network technologies (traffic flow, firewalls, load balancing)

Position Summary

Seeking a Web Hosting Engineer that is well versed in the technical challenges of the IT industry to add to our internal Web Hosting infrastructure team. This position will work with various Business units to setup and configure custom web environments solutions to support proprietary applications. Interaction will also occur with our other infrastructure groups and external customers. An understanding of these key areas is required: various Microsoft OS versions, Microsoft IIS versions, Active Directory, DNS, SSL, Cluster, DFS, network technologies supportive of web hosting: traffic flow, firewalls and load balancing. Background with installing and configuring Apache/Tomcat along with general UNIX commands is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for working with the different business units and customers, to engineer, design, implement and document custom solutions for systems and web sites/applications.
  • Analyzes system and/or application performance, modifying parameters to improve throughput and effectively utilize resources.
  • Responsible for the engineering design to meet the business and operational objectives for business continuity solutions
  • Responsible for accurately estimating and planning activities within the domain for individual tasks to provide the necessary input into the project managers for developing an end to end plan under the direction of the Supervisor or Manager
  • Participates in on-call Tier 3 production support activities based upon documented support procedures. Proactively puts procedures in place to prevent and reduce the severity of outages under the guidance of Supervisor or Manager.
  • Documents and maintains standard operating procedures.
  • Coordinates activities with vendors as required
  • Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned
  • May participate as a team member on software or application development projects.

The national pay range for this role is $62,100 to $109,200 / year. The pay range may be slightly lower or higher based on the geographic location of the hired employee. The actual pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program.
