We need one to Design, build and maintain website and software applications.


Qualifications

  • Bachelors’ degree (BA/BS) in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, and/or eight or more years of an equivalent combination of education and experience with theoretical and practical knowledge in the field preferred.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Apache, PHP, HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
  • Strong working knowledge of server-based relational database technology and SQL, with practical experience developing in dialects such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaSQL, Oracle SQL and/or Oracle Rdb.
  • Advanced experience with C#, LINQ, Web API, Entity Framework, WPF, MS Visual Studio. Experience with contemporary dynamic interpreted languages, including Python, Ruby, Lua, Clojure (etc.) a plus.
  • Advanced experience with contemporary web development frameworks, including any of Laravel, Ruby on Rails, Django, Angular, React, and/or equivalents.
  • Advanced experience with the Model-View-Controller architectural pattern.
  • Advanced and hands-on experience with unit testing and automated test methodologies.
  • Strong command line skills, e.g., bash or zsh on Linux, Cywin on Windows, etc.
  • Highly adaptable and able to meet, prioritize and manage competing demands, rapidly evolving events and changing priorities.
  • Experience with moving an organization towards a DevOps approach to software development and deployment.
  • Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Ability to convey, explain and support complex technical subject materials and concepts, both to project peers and to end users.
  • Function constructively as a contributing technical mentor to less experienced team members, peers and colleagues.
  • Capable of contributing both to original software product development and to evolving software maintenance and break/fix assignments.
  • High degree of independent judgement.
  • Ability to integrate with and work as part of a small, focused team.

Compensation: $91,303 - $130,542 with a rich benefits package that includes profit-sharing.

Job Description Summary

This position reports to the Director of Application Programming and is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, implementing and modifying new and existing application systems, including design, coding, testing, debugging, documenting and deploying production applications systems.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Software Development
  • Design, build and maintain website and software applications.
  • Perform website and software updates.
  • Develop and validate unit and integration test procedures, harnesses and methodologies.
  • Review, analyze, and modify programs/systems including encoding, testing, debugging and documenting programs.
  • Provide ongoing programming and documentation support for new and existing applications and systems.
  • Work on Windows Server platforms.

Project Management

  • Report all modifications, changes, and/or deletions of programs, systems, and/or data to product team supervisor and/or software development director for approval prior to execution.
  • Make recommendations based on knowledge of systems and current technology available in the industry.
  • Determine impact of project/system creation/modification to other systems and projects.
  • Determine additional hardware and software requirements for systems and project creation/modification.
  • Identify problems uncovered by testing or customer feedback, and correct problems or refer problems to appropriate person for correction.
  • Work with the Company’s end users and subject matter experts (SME) to determine needs and product requirements.
  • Provide specific direction to the user community under the guidance of the supervisor.
  • Participate in creating professional estimates of development time and effort requirements.
  • Manage time, daily tasks and objectives to accomplish department goals and objectives.
  • Confer with management or development teams to prioritize needs, develop content criteria, or choose solutions.
