We need one who has Advanced knowledge and understanding of software development languages ( .NET, ASP.NET, C#, SQL , JavaScript, HTML 5/CSS, Web, XML ) .


EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in Web Design, Web Development or a similar field of study and a minimum of five ( 5 ) years relevant experience in appl ication/database development; or equivalent combination of education / experience.

  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of software development languages ( .NET, ASP.NET, C#, SQL , JavaScript, HTML 5/CSS, Web, XML ) .
  • Working knowledge and understanding of Enterprise Performance Life Cycle (EPLC) processes and back-office application support .
  • Skilled proficiency related to database management system s .
  • Proficient working knowledge of Windows server administration .
  • Proven ability to conduct network/application troubleshooting .
  • Proven knowledge of website hosting platforms and maintenance .
  • Operational knowledge of Web creation and development .
  • Exceptional computer skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office ( i.e., Word, Excel, Visio, Outlook, etc.) .
  • Excellent organization and time management skills with ability to handle multiple priorities .
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to assess business requirements .
  • Ability to collaborate with others for the timely achievement of designated goals and accomplishments .

SUMMARY

The Web Developer supports the activities of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Division of Population Health ( DPH ) by planning, developing, and maintaining designing an interactive website and database application (s) in support of the Healthy Tribes Program , TPWIC recipients. The website will at a minimum: 1) highlight TPWIC successes and examples of work regularly, and 2) provide an interactive communication space for TPWIC recipients, CDC staff, and other stakeholders. W orks closely with the CDC and Team to understand and capture the functional requirements to identify effective programming methods (.NET, ASP.NET, C#, etc.).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Builds, designs, and maintains a new web website that is specific to th e TPWIC recipients and Learning Community.
  • Works in collaboration with the CDC and Team to design and edit website content.
  • Collects, analyzes, synthesizes, and documents client business needs.
  • Conducts requirements gathering sessions with the client.
  • Translates requirements into technical specifications, formulate and defines systems scope and objective.
  • Understands UI, cross-browser compatibility, and general web functions and standards.
  • Creates solutions for identified problems or bugs.
  • Executes assignments with the use of web applications, scripts, and programming languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and APIs.
  • Develops and validates test routines to ensure the quality of the external and internal interface.
  • Designs assignments with web services like REST, SOAP, etc.
  • Evaluates written code to ensure it meets industry standards and is compatible with all devices.
  • Provides expertise utilizing structural query language ( SQL ) database back-end capabilities and hierarchical temporal memory (HTM) / portal technology to accomplish results.
  • Develop s front-end web pages using HTML / XHTML, Dynamic HTML, Java and CSS.
  • Utilizes Abode Acrobat Professional, Photoshop, Flash and other software , in an Active Server Pages (APS) server-side scripting environment to ensure the development of a professional product.
  • Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor's instruction in such a way as to maximize output. Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to any training made available by the company.
