Minimum Qualifications:
- 3-4 years of relevant experience, including full front-end and back-end web development for public-facing sites, particularly in the government sector
- Developing websites using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Experience maintaining public-facing websites for government with a focus on accessibility (WCAG 2.0 and 508 compliance) and user experience
- Experience building websites using TeamSite is a plus
- Knowledge of government website guidelines, including Section 508 compliance
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance
Description
Artemis is seeking a Web Developer to support the Office of Nursing Services.
Tasks may include performing web development, computer programming and database integration; supporting data collection, statistical analysis and visualization of progress towards achieving objectives; assisting the customer with defining and refining product requirements; and developing and implementing website designs and updates. This individual will be responsible for supporting multiple websites that contain information in support of the office’s goals. This candidate should excel at using programming languages and design programs to successfully complete their work.
This position requires strong customer interaction skills and a demonstrated ability to work with various stakeholders across multiple tasks. The Web Developer will review and organize website content based on the aesthetic, functional, strategic and technical criteria established by the client. They work with clients, customers and content developers to reorganize and revise content as needed based on a shared understanding of business needs and the needs of the audience groups. They use audits, data, research and technical skill to deliver a user-friendly online and mobile experience.
This position is located in Alexandria, VA; however remote work is an option.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work involves the technical planning, design, development, testing, implementation, and management of Internet and intranet activities.
- Work includes systems and application development, installation, configuration, implementation, and technical management of websites.
- Knowledge of computer and networking with applications, principles, concepts, and methods is required.
- Conduct usability audit and support development of a more user-friendly interface.
- Troubleshoot and resolve content migration errors.
- Building intranet sites using SharePoint
- Review and update missing content, images, links and other information impacting the user experience or search engine optimization.
- Add or adjust audience pages to better target information to specific audiences.
- Use web data analytics and digital tools to improve overall performance.
- Track, quality check and resolve all web updates for review with the client on a regular basis.
- Make proactive recommendations to improve the user experience and campaign performance.
