Description

Want to work at one of Canada’s fastest-growing companies? Here is your chance!

Who We Are: Sonar is an enterprise, B2B SaaS product, targeted toward ISPs. It provides numerous features for ISPs such as billing, ticketing, network monitoring, inventory management, scheduling, service provisioning, and more. We are a tight-knit group here at Sonar, and strongly believe in inclusivity, equality, and investing in future growth. Competitive salary, fully remote work environment, paid vacation, medical benefits, annual home office stipend, and career development opportunities, are just a few of the benefits of working with us.

What We Need: We are looking for a passionate and capable UI/UX Designer to join our Product team. Please see below for additional information for this role.

The primary function of the UI/UX Designer is to aid in the planning, research, design, and development of Sonar’s applications using code and visual design tools, creating elegant, usable, responsive, and interactive interfaces. Your work will contribute directly to the look and feel of Sonar’s products, and by extension, our visible brand as a whole. As a key member of our growing Product team, you will have the opportunity to help define the standards and design tenants that are to be followed by our development team, ensuring we achieve target quality and consistency for our applications’ UX experience and UI appearance.

Responsibilities of this Role:

  1. Contributing to the development & maintenance of a UI/UX design plan for Sonar’s products. Intention is to define standards and goals for visual and functional themes, which will help to ensure all new work will be designed and implemented in a way that helps to achieve this vision over time.
  2. By collaborating with the rest of the Product Team, and internal SMEs from Customer Experience & Marketing, you will help to accurately define the various user personas which will be incorporated when designing new features, functionalities, and solutions.
  3. Organizing and facilitating various methods of passive and engaged user research that will uncover the workflows and underlying needs that our products and features endeavor to support.
  4. Identifying specific areas/opportunities for improvement by assessing current design and analyzing historical user behaviour data.
  5. Participating in the Shape Up process by drafting pitches, and reviewing and collaborating on pitches drafted by others.
  6. Producing high-quality design solutions and prototypes for the purpose of communicating design and workflow concepts for new work items. Depending on the nature of the project, you will be responsible for both visual design and UI elements.
  7. Collaborating with and supporting extended departments within Sonar (E.g. Development, QA, Q&C, and others) as required, empowering them to succeed in their respective capacities.
  8. Maintaining a solid understanding of Sonar Software (and its underlying application code), and the industries and markets which it serves.
  9. Staying up-to-date on emerging UI/UX tools and trends, as well as the latest standards for accessibility (E.g. WCAG / ADA).
