Job Description:
Benefitfocus is searching for an experienced Software Test Manager to join our Customer Success Organization. The Test Manager is responsible for the planning and project management of all testing activities required to bring our clients live on the Benefitfocus enterprise platform. The Test Manager works closely with our customers, the Benefitfocus Project Manager, and the other Benefitfocus project team members throughout implementation to ensure quality delivery. The Test Manager must ensure proper management of the testing activities, including workstream management, risks / issues management, escalations, status reporting, etc. This is a full-time remote position that requires excellent communication, organization, attention to detail, and time management skills. Candidate must be able to work CST and/or EST hours.
Responsibilities:
- Create and document test strategies, plans, and scenarios for all post-QA test phases of assigned projects, including validation of front-end applications, data integrations, any custom features, operational processes, post-go live validation, migration testing, etc.
- Manage all internal and external test planning and execution activities
- Manage a number of projects and test efforts simultaneously
- Attend design meetings and identify downstream dependencies impacting testing success
- Create and maintain integration test plans in accordance with internal and external project plans and technical requirements
- Manage and communicate test environment related activities, including refreshes, downtime, code deployments, customer access, environment set up, etc.
- Coordinate internal system testing of solution functionality prior to external testing with clients
- Facilitate testing kickoff and be the main point of contact for all stakeholder coordination required to complete testing
- Facilitate regular status meetings with internal and external stakeholders
- Coordinate, oversee and assign work for Test Analysts designated to your projects
- Own status and progress reporting for testing work stream and provide metric reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
- Document and maintain a comprehensive issues log that is visible to internal and external stakeholders
- Work closely with the Project Manager and other stakeholders to develop detailed deployment plans
- Coordinate and achieve internal and external stakeholder approval on testing activity milestones and deliverables
- Maintain an active status view of all projects and manage risk / issue identification and escalations to ensure project remains on track
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of the Benefitfocus enterprise platform and products
- Maintain a working knowledge of industry concepts, terminology, events, and trends
- Additional responsibilities, as required.
