KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

Essential:

• Good experience in software testing environment, or equivalent to.
• Must have good practical testing skills and an understanding of the QA and development processes.
• Must have good analytical skills with proven ability to comprehend business requirements
• Practical experience with any modern test management, defect and requirement tools.
• Must be a team-oriented person with a “can do” attitude.

Desirable:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, information systems, computer science is required, or equivalent to.
• Able to train and mentor other testers.
• Able to deal effectively with all levels of the organization.

JOB TITLE: Test Engineer

REPORTS TO TITLE: Team Manager, Testing Services/ Operations

LOCATION: PH

ROLE PURPOSE

Test Engineer performs testing and quality assurance tasks. Manages own assignments and schedule and serves as a resource for other departments on issues relating to the assigned testing modules. Operates under moderate supervision.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Works directly with software development personnel to deliver high quality software.
• Primary responsibilities include proactive testing, finding new problems, analyzing them, and supporting software
• Managing and tracking bugs/anomalies and verifying bug fixes.
• Influences software design to maximize testability and improves working methods
• Writes and executes test cases for assigned modules.
• Researches and develops an understanding of the marketing requirements for the product features being tested, including how the users use the feature and their performance requirements for the feature
• Creates test data and other necessary test assets.
• Estimates the testing tasks.
• Performs training sessions and mentors less experienced team members.
• Other responsibilities will be assigned as required.

DECISION MAKING AND INFLUENCE

• Estimates testing tasks and performs reviews of the project plans
• Responsible to identify and communicate risk
• Drafts, reviews and approves training materials for the testing team
