Sr. Devops Engineer at Verisys

We need one to Develop and manage IaC stacks and templates for infrastructure/application deployments across multiple environments/platforms.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• 8+ years of system engineering/administration and automation experience.
• Proficiency working with automated server configuration and deployment tools.
• Proficiency working in Unix/Linux environments, particularly with web-facing systems.
• Proficiency in writing scripts in Bash, Powershell and Python.
• Proficiency with AWS services (VPC, EC2, ECS, SQS, S3, Cloudformation)
• Proficiency with infrastructure and application monitoring.
• Experience with platform/web security roles
• Application containerization experience (Docker)
• Experience with distributed systems

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of Nginx, Apache, HAproxy
• Knowledge of CM tools, such as SaltStack
• Redis, PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, LogStash, RabbitMQ, Redis
• Knowledge of Azure DevOps pipelines.
• Healthcare systems Industry experience is a plus.

Description

General Responsibilities:

• Designing infrastructure and automated systems to support massively distributed architecture across multiple platforms.
• Developing tools to manage configuration and deployment of large server clusters.
• Forecasting and planning for the infrastructure needs of a fast-growing SaaS company and finding ways to improve the efficiency.
• Collaborating with our engineering team to detect, to resolve and enhance infrastructure problems.
• Develop and manage IaC stacks and templates for infrastructure/application deployments across multiple environments/platforms.
• Maintain highly available and redundant web and backend systems that serve millions of users, and 1000’s of requests per second.
• Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of network servers, physical and virtual as well as thousands of containers.
• Provide technical and infrastructure support for business microservices architecture and containerized applications, using Docker/AWS ECS.
• Participate in team weekly on-call rotation, to provide after hours support for infrastructure and applications.
• Performs other job-related tasks and projects, as assigned.
• Please note this is a remote opportunity but you "MUST" live in one of the following states to be considered: CO, FL, GA, IL, IN, KS, KY, MA, ME, MD, MO, MI, NC, OH, OK, PA, UT, TN, WI, Wash DC, VA
• Having a dedicated work space to be productive for a full day is highly recommended!
