A Senior Data Governance Analyst serves as a key expert in compiling and comprehending data from multiple sources. This position is part of the Enterprise Information Management team within Ascension Data Delivery and Governance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Bachelor's degree required
- Experience working in a healthcare environment preferred
- Experience with Master Data Management programs preferred
- Basic knowledge of backend database configuration and processes
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform or similar cloud data platforms is preferred
- Previous provider and clinical systems knowledge is preferred, both in the inpatient and ambulatory settings
WORK EXPERIENCE:
- 3 years of experience preferred

What You Will Do:
A Senior Data Governance Analyst serves as a key expert in compiling and comprehending data from multiple sources. This position is part of the Enterprise Information Management team within Ascension Data Delivery and Governance.
This individual will be responsible for assisting in the implementation and ongoing enhancement of non-clinical data in Ascension Enterprise Data Lake and other FHIR data repositories. This role will involve querying and connecting to databases for data profiling and data quality, creating data visualizations, and making recommendations for system integration. The associate in this role will develop a deep understanding of data across multiple data domains and platforms and work closely with business stakeholders to mature our Data Quality program.
JOB SUMMARY:
- Builds and conducts testing plans to ensure valid data is available to the business.
- Performs mapping of source data to a normalized data model.
- Determines approaches to interoperability of data, including mapping of content to data standards to support use case requirements.
- Serves as a subject matter expert on data quality and availability.
- Serves as key resource and expert in collection and analysis of data from multiple sources for identification of data quality issues and tracking of data quality metrics over time.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Compiles analytical and statistical reports as needed.
- Formulates, defines, and recommends scope and format of reports.
- May provide leadership, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff on how to access reports and interpret the data.
- Collaborates with technical resources to identify data trends, perform root cause analysis, and complete remediation of data quality issues.
- Assists data ingestion activities for Ascension’s Master Data Management platform (Reltio). Analyzes connected platforms to understand data patterns and quality. Provides input for platform configuration.
- Acts as a quality consultant and subject matter expert, performing testing and validation of the mapping of data elements to standards
- Tests clinical content to ensure the appropriate data modeling, vocabulary, terminology, and code-set standard for representing and harmonizing Master Data
- Partners with stakeholders and consumers to ensure the appropriate application of master data assets within downstream platforms and analytics through testing and subject matter expertise.
- Coordinates with a matrixed team to assure consistency and optimization of overall work product.
- Maintains current knowledge of industry and business process trends and is able to apply that knowledge to existing business processes.

- Have a clear understanding of your assigned functional area and the data being managed, and its implications downstream to other systems, processes, and applications.
