SQL Developer at CallTower, Inc.

The SQL Developer will work as a member of the Development Team at CallTower. The SQL Developer is responsible for database management for several large stores of customer data.

Skills/Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience
• 5+ years’ experience as an SQL Developer or similar role
• Experience with MSSQL Databases
• Ability to support databases with more than 100 million rows and millions of updates per day
• Advanced knowledge of database SQL queries, stored procedures, and other Microsoft SQL Server concepts
• Knowledge of database design and theories
• Expertise with database management best practices
• Familiarity of IT security best practices
• Awareness of ORM techniques (Hibernate & Entity Framework), the associated scripting and migration processes, and how they interact with traditional relational techniques.
• Problem solving skills specific to Information Technology, Network Management and System Design
• Strong analytical skills for interpreting business requirements and translating them into technical specifications

Job Purpose:

The SQL Developer will work as a member of the Development Team at CallTower. The SQL Developer is responsible for database management for several large stores of customer data. This includes transactional processing, optimization, and monitoring Call Detail Records (CDR) data and various other data sources. The SQL developer will also interface with other departments to provide expertise in data processing and reporting.

Duties:

• Implement and maintain new SQL Server Jobs, Stored Procedures, and queries for processing CDR Data
• Respond to business questions about CDR usage, anomalies, and patterns
• Monitor and improve automated anomaly and toll fraud detection
• Investigate anomalies in CDR data
• Understand the full life cycle of the various data sources
• Understand how various phone call records should be billed
• Test phone call types on multiple platforms and verify that the call record is processed and eventually billed correctly
• Improve CDR processing as needed to better reflect CallTower business rules
• Implement and maintain a robust CDR database for testing
• Assist the development team in all database related decisions
• Profile and monitor SQL databases to identify and assist in rectifying processing bottlenecks, performance issues, and security concerns.
• Assist in monitoring, planning and deployment of database capacity.
