SQL Database Developer at John Burns Real Estate Consulting, LLC
We are looking for a bright, motivated, analytical SQL Database Developer to join our team in our Folsom/Sacramento office.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- 4+ years of recent experience in a database development role working with Microsoft SQL Server.
- Ability to understand and write complex T-SQL code.
- Knowledge of query optimization, indexes, and performance tuning techniques in MS SQL Server.
- Ability to create and manage all data aspects in end-to-end solutions.
- Experience with the Microsoft Azure platform.
- Knowledge of principles of database design, data acquisition and data access analysis and design.
- Self-motivated with ability to work with minimal supervision while supporting multiple projects and activities.
- Ability to translate technical specifications, and/or logical and physical design into code for new or enhancement projects.
- Focused on results.
- Experience working with Access and Excel.
- Experience in the following required: SSIS, SSAS, SSRS.
- Experience in the following recommended: Powershell, Source Control: TFS, Python.

Description
We are looking for a bright, motivated, analytical SQL Database Developer to join our team in our Folsom/Sacramento office. Working with our research and information management groups the SQL Developer will service the critical information needs across our organization.
Our monthly reports cover housing markets on a national, regional, and metro-level basis. Our diverse group of clients includes home builders, developers, hedge funds, private equity groups and banks. We enjoy challenges, problem solving, economic analysis, market research and working on a team. We take great pride in all our work and have uncompromised ethics.
To succeed, you will need to be comfortable managing several projects at once and handle the occasional quick turnarounds.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support in the development, implementation, integration, and presentation of reports to support data analysts.
- Generate code to extract, transform and load data from production data sources to the data warehouse.
- Support database design, development, architecture, modernization, and implementation, including long- and short-term requirements.
- Participate in the database specification and review process to ensure system requirements can be translated into required report implementations.
- Participate and contribute to database/report development processes.
- Validate, analyze, and debug code to ensure accuracy and reliability of the data.
- Create stored procedures, triggers, functions, and complex queries.
- Maintain and enhance the existing data warehouse, exports, and reports.
- Create and maintain documentation for all projects.
- Perform quality checks on reports and exports.
