Required Experience

• Proficient in collecting test metrics and creating comprehensive test summary reports
• Requires in-depth experience with V-Model and Waterfall methodologies

Description

The Software Test Engineer provides subject matter expertise for small to medium size testing efforts in support of UScellular application development projects. As a Software Test Engineer, you will plan the test approach and scope, write and execute test cases, record results, and handle defects, while communicating issues, risks, and status of software testing projects on a timely basis. This role is involved at some level throughout the entire software development life cycle which includes estimating the test effort, reviewing requirements, and compiling test results in the final phase. Additionally, the Software Test Engineer is responsible for oversight of the scoping, planning, executing, and monitoring of projects from a testing perspective to keep releases on schedule and within budget. Lastly, the Software Test Engineer will be expected to identify and suggest process improvements to increase quality and efficiency from release to release.

This role is a hybrid work arrangement where the candidate can perform this role in-office or remote. In-office expectations within our operating footprint will be limited and based on an on purpose, for a purpose model should a meeting or collaborative session be scheduled.

Essential Functions

Responsible for the testing quality and effectiveness for a given release, which includes developing the test approach for the release test strategy, reviews the test plans, oversees the detailed test case design and timelines, creating/reviewing test estimates/resource forecast, evaluating test results and reporting overall test results.

• Act as primary point of contact for projects included in a release.
• Maintains release testing issues and risks.
• Assign resources to projects in conjunction with SQA Manager.
• Monitor and ensure tracking to closure of defects for the release.
• Participate and provides expertise during defect meetings.
• Facilitate Enterprise Testing Quality Assurance (ETQA) lessons learned meeting and participates in release after action review (AAR) meetings.
• Coordinate release project knowledge share with production support, automation, and Ops teams.
