Description

How you will help

The mission of HealthVerity’s platform team is to build tools that delight internal engineering teams. We measure success via developer productivity, service quality and standards adoption within HealthVerity’s product portfolio. Your role on the team will focus on software development tools and processes used directly by engineers to eliminate undifferentiated work, reduce cognitive load and conform to service maturity best-practices. This is an engineering role. You will be responsible for implementing and developing features as a result of team feedback and identifying opportunities in addition to documenting and testing solutions.

The software development environment spans both front-end and back-end concerns, so you will need a strong understanding of the tools, constraints and developer challenges in both contexts to design efficient solutions.

What you will do

  • Consider the “voice of the customer” from HealthVerity’s engineering teams when designing features and optimization opportunities for infrastructure and platform management
  • Design, build and document runtime libraries to provide a layer of abstraction around common service functions, communication patterns, and design concerns (e.g. inter-service communication, etc.)Design, build and document shared microservices to implement cross-cutting concerns needed for multiple teams (e.g. authentication, notifications, etc.)
  • Manage the end-to-end solution delivery process from design, to development, to team roll-out
  • Provide first-line support to teams using application tools
  • Be code owner/repo maintainer for application tools and libraries following an internal “open source” model
