Who you are

  • 8+ years front end experience
  • 7+years of experience building and shipping production grade software or services
  • Firm understanding of software design patterns and principles
  • 4+ years of experience building distributed services
  • Operational ownership of low-latency, high-availability services
  • Experience with consumer-facing, high-visibility services
  • Experience in developing high-scale and high availability services
  • Strong communication skills to interact with audiences that include customers, peers and executive leadership
  • In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location.

This is an opportunity on Zillow Group's Identity Access Management team, which is at the center of Zillow's multi-year strategy. In the web and mobile-first world, we seek to improve the customer experience by better understanding and defining the journey to make home buying or the rental process more accessible.

About the role

In this role, the Senior Software Engineer will have an opportunity to join our team and contribute meaningfully to the #1 real estate portal. We are a technology driven group who strives to build products that delight our users. We are re-imagining an authenticated customer journey by adding customer-facing features and bringing creative solutions to develop strong but comprehensible identity systems.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will:

  • Contribute and deliver long-term product strategy for Identity across all Zillow brands and lines of business
  • Build and evolve high scale distributed services.
  • Work with partner teams to understand and resolve sophisticated issues.
  • Communicate strategy, roadmap, and development to senior leadership
  • Champion improvements in the quality and stability of service fundamentals and promote engineering best practices
  • Demonstrate strong customer empathy, curiosity and willingness to question and learn
  • This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice which must be identified to the Company. Employees may live in any of the 50 US States, with limited exceptions. In certain cases, an employee in a remote-designated job may need to live in a specific region or time zone to support customers or clients as part of their role.
  • In Colorado, the standard pay range for this role is $144,000.00 - $230,000.00 Annually. This range is specific to Colorado and may not be applicable to other locations.
