What you’ll bring:
- Bachelor's in information systems, computer science, or related field or 4 years work experience (required)
- 3+ years as Site Reliability Engineer/DevSecOps, or IT Operations working in a complex heterogeneous environment (required)
- Cloud experience (Azure preferred)
- Experience automating using CI/CD tools.
- Windows and Linux experience
- Experience developing infrastructure, configuration, and deployment scripting and automation for business and customer facing services in a micro service environment
- Strong verbal, interpersonal, and written communication

As a Site Reliability Engineer III, you will maintain operational coverage of platforms offered through the cloud, on-premise and hybrid with a focus on improving automation, scale, process, data collection and visibility into production health and reliability. In this position on the DataHub team, you will enable the software development teams to deliver code faster and more efficiently. You’ll use your DevOps experience to provide solutions to a wide range of difficult problems and act as an internal resource for your specific Capability Product Group. Your work will modernize Premera’s IT footprint using the cloud and containers. Join us and bring your SRE mindset to automate our manual processes and mundane tasks.
What you’ll do:
- Build, run, and optimize critical services in a complex heterogeneous environment (managed services on premise and cloud, custom built applications and service on-premise and cloud, many third party integrations)
- Learn and enhance existing tools, develop new tools at scale that reduce manual intervention, enhance prevention, detection, and mitigation of service impacts
- Read, write, configure, design, and script end-to-end service telemetry, alerting and self-healing capabilities for platforms. Authoring functional and technical documentation
- Collaborate across engineering to drive operational health improvements, root cause analysis, post incident discussions and their associated remediation that serve to improve reliability and scale operations
- Remain current on new technologies, methods and procedures including, but not limited to, coding practices such as Test-Driven Development, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Deployment
- Work closely with the security team to ensure the safety and security of deployment processes
- Influence and collaborate across engineering to bring best practices, system architectures, standards, and methods for a complex heterogeneous environment
- Participate in the 'on-call' rotation
