ASRC Federal Vistronix is actively seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join our team and support development efforts for a government client in Kansas City.


Required Skills and Competencies:

  • A successful candidate must have the following experience/competencies
  • Experience with automated configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet
  • Experience with Splunk and ITSI
  • Ability to code in one or more languages (Java, Python, .NET)
  • Attention to detail and Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to make Metrics based decisions
  • Experience with industry standard tools such as Puppet, Terraform

Education and Experience:

  • Four-year technical degree such as Business Information Systems, Computer Science, or Engineering

or –

  • Combination of at least 3 years of relevant work experience with progress towards a bachelor or graduate technical degree

Preferred:

  • 5 years related experience

Preferred Skills and Competencies:

  • Additional consideration will be given to candidates with the following skills/competencies.
  • AWS Architect Certification
  • Experience with virtual platforms (VMWare, Kubernetes, Docker etc.)
  • Software Development experience (Scaled Agile Frameworks (SAFe) preferred)
  • Operational Management practices experience
  • Successful candidate is subject to a background investigation by the government and must be able to meet the requirements to hold a position of public trust.
  • Green Card and U.S. Citizenship with 3 year residency required.


Description

ASRC Federal Vistronix is actively seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join our team and support development efforts for a government client in Kansas City.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with development teams to proactively identify application and performance issues
  • Help improve the resilience of application and infrastructure utilizing tools like splunk
  • Automate manual processes and activities using Puppet, assisting in cross-training efforts to further broaden automation capabilities across the team.
  • Create and improve automation, creating self-healing systems
  • Create and maintain SLA’s and SLI’s with self-service reporting for application owners
  • Improve Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to reduce errors and increase performance
  • Ensure project and incident management are properly tracked in Jira and ServiceNow
  • Work week generally consists of 40 hours including core hours. Some after-hours work can be expected at times. Job responsibilities rotate across the team on a schedule.
