Senior Web Developer, Frontend at Wrapmate

For this role, we seek a Senior Frontend Developer to join our engineering team and help us write the next chapter of our story.

Job Requirements

• The qualified candidate should possess the following attributes & experience:
• First and foremost, you must be passionate about software development and care as deeply about improving existing systems as you do about building something entirely new (because you will be doing both).
• You must have strong communication skills, and be able to work closely with both your technical and non-technical counterparts in the organization, always increasing clarity and reducing ambiguity.
• You must have extensive experience building & maintaining innovative websites and/or web front ends to larger scale applications. You should possess a deep understanding of the fundamentals: HTML/CSS, JavaScript, HTTP/S, 1st- and 3rd-party cookies, cross-browser compatibility, responsive design, and mobile-first design.
• You must have extensive experience with UI paradigms and the challenges of implementing them in stateless, client/server-based systems (eg. Search, Pagination, Autocomplete, Foreverscroll, Modals, Login, Grids/Tabular Data Display, Uploads, CRUD Admin, Embedded Video, etc.)
• You must have foundational knowledge of frontend frameworks (eg. React, Vue, Ember, Angular, etc.), and the development concepts they encapsulate (routing, data layers and binding, event handling, hooks, templatized syntax, state management, etc.)
• You must have foundational knowledge of building frontends that communicate with native backend elements as well as 3rd-party REST APIs.
• You must have foundational knowledge of project- and task-management platforms (eg. Trello, JIRA, Asana, Monday.com, Microsoft Project, etc.) and processes (eg. Waterfall, Agile) that underpin such platforms. Experience developing/maintaining project- and task-management systems is a plus.
• You must have a solid understanding of user experience, and be familiar with techniques to design & implement UI elements in a way that improves a customer’s experience as they interact with an app or site.
• Familiarity and/or experience with Content Management Systems / Static Site Generators (eg. Eleventy) is a plus.
• Familiarity and/or experience with Kafka.js is a plus.
• Experience building Web Components is a plus.
• Familiarity and/or experience with unit testing frameworks (Chai, Mocha) is a plus.

For this role, we seek a Senior Frontend Developer to join our engineering team and help us write the next chapter of our story.

Compensation for this role is $127k/yr - $199k/yr DOE, as well as a competitive benefits package.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• As a member of the engineering team, collaborate, plan & execute the implementation of our vehicle customization platform.
• Adhere to / expand upon the software, tools & libraries currently in play and ensure we implement in a way that is robust, scalable, secure, redundant, and complies with industry best practices.
• Take ownership of product & feature delivery, developing & releasing in a manner that makes efficient use of our pipeline and reduces our lead time.
• Mentor & lead the junior engineering staff to ensure their contributions are meaningful to our delivery so that they grow as developers.
• Expand upon the SDLC foundation currently adopted by our growing engineering team, ensuring processes integrate with source control, employ repeatable standardized UI implementation approaches, utilize unit testing, schedule code reviews, and include documentation with deliverables.
