Why do we need you? Well, we are looking for a Senior UX Writer to join our Design team who is user-focused and passionate about designing thoughtful experiences to set users up for success. You’ll work to create simple & intuitive experiences that provide clarity and delight for our users, and work with our Product Design and UX Research teams to see your solutions realized.
A day in the life of a Senior UX Writer at Calendly
The Design Team at Calendly is a tight knit group of creatives made up of product designers, UX writers, and UX researchers working closely with Product Panagement and Engineering to craft amazing experiences for our users. We believe that great design starts with talking with our users, and that the best solutions come from interdisciplinary collaboration.
Calendly is scaling its offerings in ways that will impact the efficiency of millions of people around the world. This is an opportunity to join a team and lead efforts that will face these challenges head-on.
On a typical day, you will be working on:
- Writing clear and compelling in-app content (microcopy, help, tips, error messages) for web and mobile applications
- Conducting research and/or collaborating with UX Research to refine content and iteratively evolve the user experience
- Creating and editing copy across the product to maintain tone of voice and consistent style
- Working closely with designers, researchers, developers, product managers, and marketers to understand user goals, and craft meaningful, clear content that will guide users through an experience
- Establishing best practices for feature nomenclature, information hierarchy, and messaging experiences
What do we need from you?
- 5+ years creating and building content experiences
- A strong portfolio of work delivering content & messaging experiences
- Thorough understanding of UX principles, inclusive design, and content best practices
- Familiarity with user research practices (prefer experience with conducting card sorts, tree tests, highlighter tests, or other content research)
- Experience writing for accessibility and localization
- Familiarity with Agile and Lean development processes
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Authorized to work lawfully in the United States of America as Calendly does not engage in immigration sponsorship at this time

The ranges listed below are the expected annual base salary for this role, subject to change.
Calendly takes a number of factors into consideration when determining an employee’s starting salary, including relevant experience, relevant skills sets, interview performance, location/metropolitan area, and internal pay equity.
Base salary is just one component of Calendly’s total rewards package. All full-time (30 hours/week) employees are also eligible for our Quarterly Corporate Bonus program (or Sales incentive), equity awards, and competitive benefits.
Calendly uses the zip code of an employee’s remote work location, or the onsite building location if hybrid, to determine which metropolitan pay range we use. Current geographic zones are as follows:
Tier 1: San Francisco, CA, San Jose, CA, New York City, NY
Tier 2: Chicago, IL, Austin, TX, Denver, CO, Boston, MA, Washington D.C., Philadelphia, PA, Portland, OR, Seattle, WA, Miami, FL, and all other cities in CA.
Tier 3: All other locations not in Tier 1 or Tier 2
