Senior Software Engineer - Site Reliability at Packback Inc
Packback is looking for a Senior Software Engineer focused on SRE to support our mission to awaken and fuel the lifelong curiosity in every student.
Requirements
We’re looking for somebody with significant experience building devops infrastructure for modern web apps. To succeed, you will need to oversee a large codebase, be able to identify and fix pain points in the developer experience, and mentor junior team members to ensure that quality and consistency standards are met.
Additionally, we’re looking for:
- 4+ years of devops experience using Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and orchestration
- Experience planning projects and facilitating a team's implementation of them on the scale of months or years.
- Experience reviewing code to both give and receive constructive feedback.
It's great if you have:
- Experience with helm and terraform
- Experience working on highly scalable cloud infrastructures
- Comfort with Linux/UNIX systems
- Open-source contributions with a variety of technologies
- Startup or small company experience

Description
Packback is looking for a Senior Software Engineer focused on SRE to support our mission to awaken and fuel the lifelong curiosity in every student. As a software engineer at Packback, you will be a key owner of the infrastructure that powers our platform, and a core member of the team focused on providing a delightful developer experience.
Packback’s A.I.-powered platform is used by educators in K-12 and higher education to help their students fall in love with the subject matter, drive personalized learning, and most importantly, quantify and improve student critical thinking skills.
Key job duties include communicating well, providing thoughtful feedback to teammates, pairing, actively improving our team knowledge-base, and of course, writing code. You’ll be collaborating with our product team to design and implement new features, tackling bugs and tech debt, and incrementally improving our infrastructure and CI/CD pipeline.

Competitive Salary and Benefits: The salary range for this position is $115-165k annually + bonus. We set clear expectations for professional growth and offer an annual learning and development stipend.
