QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years of software development experience working on backend services in a team environment.
• 3-5 years of work experience with languages such as Python, Go, Java, Node. Extensive Python experience a plus
• 1+ years of Kubernetes, GKE, CloudRun, and/or devops experience a plus
• BS/BA degree in Computer Science or relevant technical field strongly preferred
• Experience with leveraging libraries, APIs, design patterns, and end-to-end web application programming
• Experience developing and integrating with RESTful and/or GraphQL web service APIs
• Familiarity with the integration of JavaScript frameworks such as React, Vue or Angular integrate with cloud based micro services
• Experience with agile development methodologies, test-driven development and continuous integration/continuous deployment

SUMMARY

As a member of Skykit’s software engineering team, the Senior Backend Software Engineer is ready to create, innovate and evolve workplace experience and device management solutions. In this position, you share responsibility for the design, development, and operation of the platform and micro-services that support multiple products. The Skykit Engineering Team is a diverse group of problem solvers who work hand-in-hand with Skykit product and account management to help clients succeed and to meet and drive market demands. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Architect, develop and design modern and high-quality micro-services to support the Skykit Product Platform in a team environment
• Develop and integrate with external web service APIs
• Write high-quality code with efficiency and maintainability in mind
• Take a test-driven approach to all development activities

• Communicating blockers and delays as soon as possible
• Staying flexible and open to change and to new ideas
• Guide/mentor less experienced engineers in the delivery of quality code
