As a Senior Python Engineer - Backend, you will build the best-in-class financial services and products.

Sila’s goal is to transform the financial landscape by creating an open-access financial network with a stable cryptocurrency at its core. We want to help developers and entrepreneurs bring their fintech ideas to market quicker and easier by incorporating compliant processes and making money programmable. Sila connects the world’s financial networks with easy-to-use and innovative services and APIs. From ACH, wires, payment cards, and cryptocurrency, our disruptive and ubiquitous platform will allow all sorts of financial apps to be built in the matter of days instead of months. Although the platform already handles significant transaction volume, Sila is poised for its next growth phase and is looking for a Sr. Python Engineer to build and scale distributed service-oriented systems.

As a Senior Python Engineer - Backend, you will build the best-in-class financial services and products. You will collaborate with engineers to build APIs, large-scale systems, message queues, event-driven apps, and work with the leadership team to define design patterns and establish business workflows. Knowledge of the payments, money transfers and the consumer finance industry along with Python expertise is preferred. As a senior member of the engineering team, you’ll mentor a small team working on assigned projects. This role is for a strong individual contributor who would move into a Technical Lead role over time.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Designing, building and maintaining APIs, distributed service-oriented systems.
• Designing, building, and high capacity event driven microservices and message queues.
• Creating, improving, and maintaining backend processes per product requirements.
• Dealing with large data sets, relational and object databases.
• Collaborating with product managers and other business-side stakeholders to brainstorm, design, and create features and applications.
• Writing clear, efficient, scalable, modular, and maintainable code.
• Participating in design and code reviews.
• Translating business requirements, mockups and other product manager input into achievable milestones and code.
• Creating and maintaining internal and external documentation supporting all functional changes.
• Demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills on a daily basis.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation using defined escalation procedures.
• Ability to contribute consistently and positively in a high-paced, fast-changing and sometimes unpredictable work environment.

In this role, you’ll be eligible for:

Expected base salary is $145,000- $190,000, depending on relevant experience.
