Senior Developer at The Digital Maze

We need one to Collaborate with your fellow Developers, Designers, Project Managers and the wider team to build websites that leave a lasting impression on our clients

REQUIREMENTS:

• Ideally 3-5 years of agency (or equivalent) experience
• 3+ years experience using HTML, SCSS, JavaScript, PHP
• 3+ years experience with WordPress and WooCommerce (other platforms are beneficial)
• 3+ years of experience with using Bootstrap or a similar framework
• 3+ years of experience with version control systems such as Git
• 3+ years of experience with design software such as XD or Sketch
• Basic server knowledge using FTP/SSH to manage files
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Self-motivated and keen to learn
• Ability to work under pressure
• UK residency and are able to travel to our Long Eaton Office on occasion.

DESIRABLE SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

• Self-motivated and keen to learn
• Shopify experience
• Highly communicative
• Ability to work on own initiative
• Consistency in approach and best practices
• Portfolio of strong front-end web development work
• Team management/mentor experience
• Working with technical and creative staff to deliver projects that exceed client expectations
• Some knowledge of wider digital channels, including SEO, PPC and Social would be a real advantage but not essential

ROLE DESCRIPTION:

Our ideal candidate will be proactive and enthusiastic about creating great, UX-focused websites for a broad range of clients. Having a commitment to progressing your skillset along with supporting your team members is essential. You will be confident in writing good, quality code that conforms to best practices with a drive to deliver results based on slick, modern designs. Great communication skills, the ability to problem-solve and be a strong team player will all be advantageous.

In return, we will provide support, training and an environment where staff are encouraged to take the lead and run with their ideas. You will get the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects which cover the full spectrum of front-end development. We have a knowledgeable, enthusiastic team willing to learn from each other and contribute meaningful ideas.

This is a remote position with meetings and monthly check-ins in our office in Long Eaton, Nottingham. Travel is paid for by the company if you live outside of the East Midlands. All applicants are required to be able to work in the UK.
