Senior Backend Software Engineer at Liberty Mutual Insurance

We need one to Work with our GRM/GRS and FinTech team of scrum masters, product owners and fellow engineers, to tackle technical challenges and ensure quality as we move from legacy technologies to next-generation applications.

Qualifications

Desired skills:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical or business discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• A history of translating technical and non-technical requirements into technical designs and solutions
• Agile engineering capabilities and a design-thinking mindset
• A growth mindset, continuous learning and interest in enhancing technical skills
• Collaboration, adaptability, flexibility and the ability to manage time and prioritize work with a globally distributed development team
• Strong oral and written communication skills including the ability to explain technical concepts to less technical stakeholders. Experience with Jira, Lucid, and Wiki is a plus.

About the job:

Collaborate & partner: Work with our GRM/GRS and FinTech team of scrum masters, product owners and fellow engineers, to tackle technical challenges and ensure quality as we move from legacy technologies to next-generation applications.

Comprehensively problem-solve: As you manage the end-to-end development of software products, you'll analyze issues at the system level and handle any complications that arise by implementing effective solutions.

Engineer and Develop technology: You'll document and lead the implementation of technical features, improvements and innovations.

Be a forward thinker: Simply fixing the problem isn't enough; using your proactive mindset and initiative, you'll continually look for ways to improve performance, quality and efficiency.

Proficiency in object oriented software development and tools such as TypeScript, Python, Java, AWS security concepts, AWS using CDK, AWS Databases (Aurora RDS, S3, MySQL), DB Visualizer, Visual Studio Code, and experience with unit testing. Familiarity with Angular/UI java Script framework is a plus.

Understand the software delivery lifecycle, from prototyping and testing through deployment to various environments.
