Red Team DevOps Engineer at CrowdStrike
The Red Team DevOps Engineer will join a team dedicated to performing Red Team activities in client networks that simulate known threat actors.
What You’ll Need:
- Strong experience developing projects that, interact with APIs and automate system build and configuration using Ansible, Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, and other infrastructure deployment tools
- Implement, test, and debug projects that interact with multiple connected technologies including but not limited to Windows, Linux, Mac, Networking, AWS, and Azure
- A proven track record empowering development of operational teams and maintaining production systems
- Confidence operating and navigating a Unix/Linux machine through the command line interface
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins
- Comfort with Git or similar version control workflows
- Excellent written and oral communication skills (with focus on documentation and consensus building with team members)
- A self-starter, “can do” attitude to research solutions, coordinate with customers, collaborate with teammates and solve hard problems with minimal oversight
- An open mind and willingness to learn the parts of our technology stack that are new to you
- Fundamental understanding of red team operations and penetration testing phases
- Fundamental understanding of red team infrastructure and platform-application infrastructure (e.g. EDR)
- Experience developing scripts and projects in Python, Groovy, or, C#
- Strong understanding of Active Directory environments
- Familiarity of security standards and architecture including systems hardening, role based access control
- Familiarity with encryption including PKI and proper handling of sensitive data / secrets
- Familiarity with IdP management and integrating/federating authentication with custom services/apps (SAML, OIDC, etc.)
- Working knowledge of Windows networking protocols, authentication methods, and privileges
- Experience with modern network topologies and application deployment platforms, such as: AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, and Docker is a plus
- Experience performing administration of Azure and AWS environments is a plus
- Security community participation (conference speaker or tool development contributor) is a plus
- Working knowledge of Linux/Mac file systems, daemons, and shell environments is a plus
- Experience developing, integrating, or extending Command-and-Control systems is a plus

- 3+ years of relevant DevOps experience
- Strong problem solving skills
- Ability to manage development projects start to finish
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to handle high pressure situations in a productive and professional manner.

About the Role:
The Red Team DevOps Engineer will join a team dedicated to performing Red Team activities in client networks that simulate known threat actors. We are a customer first driven team that helps CrowdStrike customer’s identify gaps in their ability to detect malicious activity at each phase of a cyber attack. We’re looking for a Red Team DevOps engineer that will support the team by improving the usability and stability of our technology stack.
What You’ll Do:
- Responsibility for design and implementation of infrastructure projects
- Provide infrastructure and operational support to the Red Team to improve overall offensive capabilities
- Document completed development projects for operational use
- Work closely with developers to research and provide guidance on infrastructure needs suitable for projects.
