Description

The Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for successfully designing reusable test plans and scripts to validate areas such as database impacts, usage scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, error, usability, traceability, and bug retests. Primary responsibilities are:

Testing existing and new system modifications for functionality prior to promotion to a production environment

Identifying, analyzing and documenting any issues with results, user interface or content using a variety of platforms.

Document software defects in an issue tracking system and report these defects to software developers and product managers, as well as monitor bug resolution efforts and perform retesting to ensure appropriate solutions.

This individual must work well in a fast paced, demanding environment; the ability to efficiently organize and prioritize projects and assignments to meet deadlines is essential to success.

Detailed Responsibilities:

• Perform detailed testing of new features
• Regularly perform regression testing using all supported browsers
• Create, document and organize test cases to ensure that the software test meets design standards, functional specifications, and system performance requirements
• Perform in-depth data validation
• Review and provide input on enhancement specifications
• Utilize test harness to validate API results when needed
• Review and attempt to recreate errors in error log
• Write (or design so developers could write) automated tests for stable, repetitive features
• Scan feedback queue for reported errors
• Review backlog for recurring bugs and help prioritize
