QA Automation Engineer at Finalsite
As part of the Product Engineering Team, the QA Automation Engineer will work collaboratively with a team of software engineers, and QA Analysts, developing test plans, crafting automated tests and regression test coverage.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Computer Science, Software Engineering, etc.) or 1–3 years experience testing software.
- Able to quickly learn new software and, execute and write automated test scripts to validate functionality.
- Proficiency with web technologies like JavaScript, CSS and HTML
- Demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving skills in a client/server and web based environment.
- Detail-oriented, with the intelligence, persistence, and creativity to appropriately and thoroughly test software.
- Able to think like an end-user and critically evaluate software features and user interface to maximize customer satisfaction.

SUMMARY OF THE ROLE
As part of the Product Engineering Team, the QA Automation Engineer will work collaboratively with a team of software engineers, and QA Analysts, developing test plans, crafting automated tests and regression test coverage. There is a degree of manual testing also required (usually less than 30%) to get familiar with new features and our software. The QA Automation Engineer’s responsibilities include following the development of new features to develop automated test approaches, maintain automated tests running successfully, investigating spec failures and logging issues when found, updating specs when required to fulfill the intended coverage, and ensure test suite runs before each scheduled release.

100% Remote - Anywhere within the US
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Contribute to the stabilization of Finalsite’s Enrollment Management System (EMS)
- Analyze new features and create automated tests for them using Cypress.io or a similar platform.
- Create and manage automated tests to expand test coverage of the existing automated test suite
- Spend 30% or less time testing features manually, to learn and to keep new features rolling
- Participate as part of a cross-functional team to create and manage tests.
- Report and track defects resulting from the test effort.
- Interact with members from Support and Professional Services departments as needed.
