The Python Web Application Developer (aka: Software Engineer II), will work on our specialized "Build" team to create and maintain critical revenue cycle, compliance SaaS applications, and data content for Valenz’s healthcare clients.


What You’ll Bring to the Team:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field required.
  • 5+ years software engineering experience.
  • 3+ years of Python application development experience.
  • 3+ years Web application development experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
  • Excels in a deadline driven environment, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.

A plus if you have:

  • Familiarity with SQL and ORM frameworks .
  • Familiarity with WSGI or Flask .
  • Familiarity with VUE application development .
  • Familiarity with ANSI X12 healthcare transactions (837, 834, 997, etc.).
  • Experience working in the healthcare industry and with claims applications.

About Our Opportunity

The Python Web Application Developer (aka: Software Engineer II), will work on our specialized "Build" team to create and maintain critical revenue cycle, compliance SaaS applications, and data content for Valenz’s healthcare clients. You will collaborate with internal and external business partners to identify problems and propose solutions while also achieving corporate product goals.

To be successful in this role you will have experience working independently to design, analyze, write, and modify systems including coding, testing, debugging and documenting programs.

Things You’ll Do Here:

  • Troubleshoots, analyzes, and modifies systems including scripting, testing, debugging and documenting programs and processes for internal and external benefactors.
  • Works to build and update custom applications following best practices for coding and security.
  • Writes easily readable and maintainable code.
  • Documents application(s) and processes to allow for easy maintenance and execution by the "Run" team.
  • Utilizes knowledge and experience to identify application problems and propose solutions independently.
  • Completes efforts independently or as part of a team in conjunction with deadlines when required.
  • Keeps up with modern techniques and changing technologies and assists junior developers with honing their skills.
  • Ability to context switch between projects as requirements and timelines evolve.
  • Maintains compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Performs related duties as assigned by supervisor.
