Python Developer at Zonar Systems

As a Python Developer, this role will report directly to the Software Development Manager working on our Core API team, developing, and supporting central, platform API’s.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE TEAM

• 5+ years of experience for software development
• Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms and software design with strong analytical and debugging skills.
• Experience with Python (will be working most in Python), and ability to pick new languages quickly
• Experience with database systems such as PostgreSQL and caching systems such as Redis.
• RESTful API experience with frameworks such as Flask or FastAPI.
• Experience with event-based architectures using technologies like Pub/Sub and Dataflow
• Experience with Docker Containers, Kubernetes, and Helm.
• Experience in designing and building large scale systems. Demonstrated knowledge with distributed and multi-threaded implementations a plus.
• Ability to work well with others, motivate other team members, and thrive in a dynamic and challenging work environment.
• Able to set goals and achieve scheduled deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience

Description

As a Python Developer, this role will report directly to the Software Development Manager working on our Core API team, developing, and supporting central, platform API’s. Primary responsibilities include writing predominantly backend python code for Google Cloud Platform-based containerized APIs as well as supporting infrastructure such as Postgres databases, caching systems, and other cloud resources. This role will also help design new systems, perform research, maintain operational efficiency, and participate in an on-call rotation.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Deliver well-tested software features with exceptional quality, in an Agile environment, meeting designated release plans and delivery commitments
• Develop APIs and services using a breadth of cloud technologies to deliver new features and support for Zonar’s products
• Work closely with other team members in guiding software architecture and technology decisions with an emphasis on quality, performance, usability, and sustainability, empowering the end goal of releasing a world-class user experience and business value to our customers
• Instrument Zonar code to achieve insight on business metrics, usage, and performance
• Follow software engineering best practices and provide technical mentorship to other members of the team

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $106,900.00 - $152,800.00 per year
