Product Designer at Silk + Sonder

Silk + Sonder is looking for a creative, user-centric Product Designer with a passion for problem-solving and product strategy. You will work closely with our product, engineering, and marketing teams to deliver design value throughout the product lifecycle.

Requirements

• 4+ years of relevant design experience

• Proven experience as a product designer with a strong portfolio showcasing successful UX/UI design projects and a deep understanding of user-centered design principles.

• Expertise in creating wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups using Figma or similar design tools, demonstrating proficiency in translating complex concepts into visually appealing and functional designs.

• Solid knowledge of UX research methodologies, including integrating user interviews, usability testing, and data analysis, to inform design decisions and drive iterative design improvements.

• Proficiency in creating intuitive and visually compelling user interfaces, employing design best practices, usability principles, and accessibility standards.

• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to effectively work with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and stakeholders, to translate requirements into exceptional user experiences.

This is a part-time, contract position. 

Responsibilities

• Create compelling user experiences by developing intuitive and user-friendly interface designs for digital products and applications.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers and developers, to understand project requirements, user needs, and business goals.

• Apply user research, analyze user feedback, and leverage data-driven insights to inform design decisions and rapidly iterate on existing designs.

• Develop wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups using Figma, ensuring consistency in visual design, interaction design, and usability across multiple platforms and devices.

• Champion best practices in UX/UI design, ensuring adherence to brand guidelines, accessibility standards, and industry trends.

• Collaborate with developers to ensure seamless handoff and implementation of design assets, providing guidance and support throughout the development process.

• Stay up to date with the latest design tools, techniques, and emerging trends in UX/UI design, proactively sharing knowledge and expertise with the team.
