We are updating a Symfony website from 4.3.2 to 4.4.X, then to 5, then to 6 via composer. There are several customized symfony recipes that will also need to be updated. The site is currently using MsSQL via PDO, but we'd like to switch over to MySQL and there are many Stored Procedures that will have to get converted to MySQL.
Required experience:
- Symfony (Bonuses: experience with 4.3, 4.4, 5 and 6, experience with updates, experience updating symfony recipes)
- Basic composer knowledge (should go hand-in-hand with Symfony)
- Git - questions: Are you comfortable with understanding diffs? Have you used "git add --patch"? (after this question they should say something like "yes, it's great for choosing which chinks of code to keep in a commit")
- If you aren't comfortable with Diffs, you will struggle with symfony recipes and will likely overwrite customized code.
- Basic comfort with command line (necessary for symfony and composer)
- Sql, especially stored procedures. Knowing MsSQL would be a bonus.
