Mobile Product/UX Designer at Banter

Banter is looking for a mobile UX Designer to influence and lead innovation for our next-generation messaging app. As a hands-on leader, you will run the end-to-end design process from user research to testing and feedback

Qualifications

• 4 - 5 years of experience in mobile UX or product design (graphic/marketing design experience is a plus)

• Designed and shipped product features either from scratch or iterating on what existed

• Strong command of visual design and information architecture and deep knowledge of modern mobile UI/UX patterns

• Experience maintaining and improving a design system

• Design software expertise (Figma, Adobe CC, wireframing software)

• A portfolio that demonstrates your experience with mobile-first design

• Ability to understand business metrics and translate them to goals and objectives into digital experiences

• Strong problem-solving skills to determine solutions to user interface challenges

• Ability to multi-task and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment

• Strong attention to detail

• Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills to communicate ideas to developers effectively

Description

Banter is looking for a mobile UX Designer to influence and lead innovation for our next-generation messaging app. As a hands-on leader, you will run the end-to-end design process from user research to testing and feedback. This is a remote position that will start as a contract role, with the opportunity for a full-time position for the right candidate. The Mobile UX Designer will report to the Head of Product.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and conduct user research, interviews, and surveys. Gather and analyze data to understand user needs

• Translate concepts into user flows, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes that lead to an intuitive mobile user experience

• Take a user-centered design approach and test and provide feedback to the development team and product team during the development stages

• Offer creative solutions to product-related design/usability challenges and expose mobile usability problems.

• Conduct market research including domain and competitor analysis, interaction/design trends, best practices, and areas of opportunity.

• Create effective handover materials which clearly communicate how the design should look and behave throughout interaction flows and journeys (e.g. User flow diagrams, design specifications, experience/interaction specifications etc)

• Design interactions for new features, applying or contributing to a design system as appropriate

• Work autonomously to quickly and pragmatically execute multiple projects
