Linux System Engineer, Junior at ASRC Federal Holding Company

ASRC Federal Data Network Technologies is seeking a Junior Linux Systems Engineer to join our team. This is a remote position but requires an understanding of both Linux and Windows OS. US Citizenship Required for the DoD Clearance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Managing and monitoring installed virtualized systems (Windows and Linux) in a government furnished data center using VMware
• Patching and upgrading Windows and Linux software
• Troubleshooting network, PKI, Certificates, Firewalls and Windows server application issues
• Document system problems and resolutions for future reference
• JIRA, Service Now and daily task management
• Quick learner, strong attention to detail, successful in both team and self-directed settings.
• Ability to work independently and in a team setting
• Investigate problems, identify their source, determine possible solutions
• Oversee the testing and monitoring of applications and systems performance

• BS/BA in Computer Science, MIS, or another related field highly desired.
• OS certification required (i.e., Red Hat, Linux, Windows), or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Security + certification required, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Desired proficiencies with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Java EE, JBoss EAP, WS Frameworks, SOAP, REST, Oracle, Oracle RDS, SQL Server, JBoss, CareFX, and WebSphere, with a deep willingness and desire to learn new technologies.
• Experience or understanding of single sign-on is highly desired but not required.
• Strong troubleshooting capabilities with demonstrated experience.
• Strong understanding of IA requirements and mitigation support.

ASRC Federal Data Network Technologies is seeking a Junior Linux Systems Engineer to join our team. This is a remote position but requires an understanding of both Linux and Windows OS. US Citizenship Required for the DoD Clearance.

The DMIX-SSIS system supports the Defense Health Agency’s Interoperability systems that share data between DoD, VA and outside clinical organizations. DMIX supports over 7 environments with a wide variety of platforms and Software Databases include Oracle and MS SQL Server 2016. Application servers include WebLogic and JBoss. Operating systems include RedHat and Windows. Hardware is virtualized within Data Centers and AWS Gov Cloud. DevOps is implemented using Ansible Playbooks and Artifactory. The DMIX program is an excellent opportunity for motivated individuals to broaden their skills and learn about new technologies in the Defense and Healthcare Industry.
