Lavavel Developer Contractor at Metova

We're looking for a front-end inclined Laravel developer with at least 3 years of related web development experience.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:

You'll be joining an existing team of developers and working alongside them to bring one of our client's internal sites to life.

This position will involve building out an internal Laravel site to client specifications, as well as occasionally modifying cron scripts/other scripts. Candidates will need to possess a keen eye for detail on the front-end and be able to create websites that are stable and maintainable into the future by adhering to framework standards. They should be able to think critically about problems and be autonomous enough to figure out solutions by themselves on the fly.

General:

• Ability to jump into a pre-existing site and be effective quickly, with assistance and guidance from the team
• Quick learner - autonomy to utilize resources to figure things out
• Asks questions - If you get stuck, ask the team for help instead of wasting cycles

PHP:

• 3-5+ years of PHP experience
• MVC Framework knowledge - Specifically with Laravel
• High familiarity with Laravel, to the point you would feel comfortable teaching/assisting others on Laravel specifics
• HTML/CSS:
• HTML5
• CSS3
• Experience with browser quirks and inconsistencies

Server:

• Basic linux commands
• Basic DNS

Git:

• Familiarity with Git and Gitflow/Branching
• We consider it a plus if you have experience with:
• Bootstrap
• JavaScript
• MySQL

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Enhance current mobile applications, while also helping to build new ones

Work with other developers of various experience levels

Participate in code reviews and writing technical documentation

Deliver clean and stable code (with tests!)

Be an advocate for tech and engineering inside the company

OUR AVAILABILITY:

Time preferred time zone is Central Time Zone. We expect 8 hours a day, with at least 6 hours of overlap between 9-5.
