About You

• Bachelor’s degree in technical field, qualified tech bootcamp certification, or similar educational background
• Excellent project and time management skills with ability to work independently
• Experience with general-purpose programming (e.g. Python, Rust, Go a plus) or popular web languages (e.g., PHP, JavaScript) that deal with a variety of data structures, algorithms, and serialization formats
• SQL experience with a proven ability to independently query data from disparate sources
• Knowledge of REST APIs & HTTP lifecycle
• Demonstrated proficiency using Git (or similar version control tool)
• Familiarity within the Linux environment and its common tooling environment (shell scripting a plus)
• Ability to explain ideas clearly and succinctly - both verbally and in writing
• Current on modern technologies and trends broadly across various tech topics
• Willingness, excitement and drive to be a foundational team member in a startup environment

As a great candidate, you have knowledge of development and data technologies. This may include web frameworks (e.g. Vue, Laravel), workflow orchestrators (e.g. Airflow, Luigi), or containerization software (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). In short, an ideal candidate would have at least some experience working across the entire stack.

Furthermore, you should have clearly and concretely demonstrated your passion for programming. This might include, for example:

• Engagement in the development community (e.g. attends meetups, hackathons, conferences, active Twitter or blog, etc.)
• Demonstrated skills through previous work or private projects, including links to live code on the web
• Actively contributing to projects on GitHub
• Eagerness to learn new technologies (e.g. new languages, frameworks, etc.)
• Confidence in your ability to approach tech problems, including unknown languages and tooling

Responsibilities

• Own strategy and manage implementation and maintenance of company systems & architecture
• Serve as a thought leader on issues pertaining to all firm software systems, application development, maintenance, and enhancement
• Critically evaluate software development plans and proposed technology stacks
• Intermediate level PostgreSQL database management and administration
• Contribute improvements to internal tooling (e.g. workflow pipelines, web applications, stack monitoring and security, etc.)
• Develop and maintain customer interfacing tech (e.g., contact center phone & messaging integrations, IoT & access control management, and networking devices)
• Maintain infrastructure with Docker

Compensation
