Junior Web Developer at Cognosante, LLC
We are looking for a creative and technical individual to join our Ticket to Work Program technical team! This person will be directly involved in managing and updating two websites in Drupal.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, web design or related field; or an associate degree or a certificate in web development or 2 years of work experience in the field.
- Knowledge of PHP scripting and ability to modify templates using the Drupal Twig template engine
- Experience with Bootstrap 4, CSS style sheets, HTML templates, forms, and RESTful APIs.
- Ability to manage, maintain and perform changes based on client requirements.
- Ability to implement UI/UX changes to the website based on the usability requirements.
- Writing code using various programming languages (such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or PHP) to create new features for websites
- Working knowledge of Java development with experience of designing, developing, deploying and supporting Java applications that have web front end and integration with an Oracle database backend
- Knowledge of relational database management systems (e.g., Oracle DBMS)
- Ability to write well-formed Structured Query Language (SQL) scripts
- Understanding of Google Analytics and search engines, ability to analyze the data and provide optimization recommendations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to learn new skills quickly
- Reviewing designs created by graphic artists to ensure that they are compatible with the website’s layout or design scheme.
- Creating wireframes, mockups, or prototypes to visualize site layouts before building them using code

Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure Cloud Computing Platform and virtualization
- Understanding of Agile software development methodologies
- Understanding of Drupal CMS for general system administration, upgrades, updates, security patches, and other system management tasks
- Experience with Version Control Systems (e.g., Github)
- Oracle PL/SQL experience
- Any experience or exposure to cybersecurity practices

Key Responsibilities
- Solid understanding of web design and development principles.
- Communicating with the internal team about design choices and technical details throughout the development process
- Testing code to ensure that it functions properly in different browsers and platforms
- Hands-on experience with Java development in a web environment, including JBoss
- Hands-on knowledge of JavaScript to support and maintain multiple JavaScript customizations that are tied to the front-end UI of the website
- Ability to work efficiently in a high demand and fast paced environment
Compensation
$61,595.85 - $92,393.78
The pay range for this job is determined by various factors, including but not necessarily limited to location, responsibilities of the job, and alignment with market data. When determining a salary for this role, the following factors may will be taken into consideration - contract-specific affordability, education, knowledge, skills, competencies and experience.
