Job Summary

Our team designs software to help design engineering and cost engineering teams predict and manage manufacturing risk and cost. The Junior UX Designer role is an individual contributor who will assist with the design and production of features for our users and learn the user-centered planning under the direction of more senior designers. In this role, a successful candidate will produce design artifacts and assets and learn to center their work on customer needs. They’ll learn to engage stakeholders and actual users in researching and prototyping a range of design solutions with increasing degrees of fidelity as we progress towards greater confidence about the problem through user research. They will support our partners in engineering, QA, and other teams as they produce, improve, and release the design. They will learn to manage expectations appropriately with stakeholders and clients. Success in this role also means being ready to receive guidance from more senior user experience team members, particularly with user-centered design capabilities.

Here, we aspire to do the right thing and to do things right. We seek others who feel the same. A successful candidate for this role can demonstrate some experience working with B2B/SaaS users grounded in research-based personas. They optimally can demonstrate some experience in working with stakeholders in defining workflows and improving and optimizing interactions, especially with presenting complex data in an actionable format. While curious and thoughtful, they can work with speed and efficiency and can manage time and complexity. They exhibit a bias towards action and know when and how to make tradeoffs among UX approaches. They can demonstrate traceability between user research and design execution, and are able to defend design decisions based on user research findings.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assist with design of user experiences that address the needs of specific user personas and use cases.

  • Collaborate with product managers and development teams to design user experiences for our role-based Web applications and support product based agile scrum teams.
  • Develop, maintain, and share user personas to help create a common understanding across the product development team of end users, the problems they face and how aPriori helps/provides value to them.
  • Work directly with customers and our user council on usability research, user workflows and persona development to inform our designs, product roadmap and new features. Run Lean usability testing / validation.
