Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- 2+ years progressive experience in IT operations roles including on-call
- High level of interpersonal skills – Role requires interaction with all levels of users up to and including C-Level Executives, must be able to communicate effectively and efficiently.
- Proficiency with Microsoft operating systems (Client: Windows 10/11. Server: 2008R2, 2012, 2012R2, 2016 and newer) as well as server roles and features.
- Experience with Microsoft Active Directory, including management of accounts and group policy, DNS, DHCP and Print Server Management
- Experience with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager, including imaging & package management/deployment
- Experience with VMware ESXi/vCenter
- Experience with server hardware (Dell, IBM, HP)
- Experience with Microsoft Exchange Hybrid and Cloud environment (managing mailboxes, distribution lists, and server roles) preferred
- Understanding of SAN technologies is a plus
- Experience with Linux/UNIX/AIX is a plus
- Excellent organizational skills – Stay ahead of tasks, be prepared to give status updates to management and senior levels team members.
- Excellent documentation skills
- Experience with implementation and maintenance of Microsoft Azure environments
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly in the fast-paced, dynamic environment of a growing company
- Proficiency with hand tools (drill/wrench/screwdriver) required
- Up to 10% travel
- Ability to adapt to meet dynamic expectations based on organizational needs

Position Summary
The IT Operations team is responsible for the server infrastructure of the business: servers, storage/SAN, Active Directory and Group Policies. As a Junior Systems Administrator, your role will focus on Level 2/2.5 support and escalation from the Help Desk. The Junior Systems Administrator will be responsible for the maintenance of complex solutions in a Microsoft/Linux network and VMware technologies. The ideal candidate will have experience in virtualized environments supporting fast-paced business operations, working with systems including Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft Exchange, VMware ESXi & vCenter, Microsoft Azure and others. Knowledge/experience with router/switch networking is not required but is a plus.
Essential Job Functions
Daily responsibilities will include resolving tickets escalated from Level 1, deploying solutions designed by senior IT staff, designing solutions and systems to meet business requirements, such as laptop imaging and software deployment solutions, maintaining production and development business systems, and other duties as assigned. Other responsibilities include occasionally traveling to our Data Centers installing/maintaining IT equipment, producing and maintaining documentation, identifying potential improvements in business systems and processes, and learning new unfamiliar systems. The business operates 24x7x365, and participation in an on-call rotation will be required, as well as accepting escalated issues when not on call. A successful individual will be a motivated self-starter who can operate independently, must thrive in a team environment where communication is key, will seek to be continually improving, and will take personal value in the success of the business.
