Junior Software QA Engineer at PeakActivity

PeakActivity's client is looking to hire a Junior Software QA Engineer mid to senior level for web applications who will be assessing software quality by designing and implementing testing processes, taking ownership of code quality through exploratory and automated tests.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience in automating tests for web applications with Selenium Webdriver
• Knowledge of JavaScript programming language
• Experience working in a DevOps environment for continuous testing
• Hands-on experience in API testing and API test automation with Postman
• Knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes
• Understanding of Agile methodology, roles, and responsibilities
• Ability to provide efficient test coverage for a web application
• Perform requirements analysis
• Strong analytical & debugging skills
• Experience working with eCommerce platforms - preferred, but not required

PeakActivity's client is looking to hire a Junior Software QA Engineer mid to senior level for web applications who will be assessing software quality by designing and implementing testing processes, taking ownership of code quality through exploratory and automated tests.

Ability to think like a developer, fully understand what project managers and product owners expect, and to imagine what end users need and how they will interact with the product. Ability to bring together strategy, technology, and expertise to optimize the testing process. We expect a candidate to be proactive, self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision, have wide industry knowledge and bring initiatives to the team’s table.

The main focus of the role will be on writing automated functional tests for web applications. The candidate should be able to:

Analyze and prioritize scope for test automation considering business needs, customer risks and efficiency improvement.

Write clean code according to best industry practices.

Integrate automated test suite into CI/CD pipeline.

Web Testing Tools and Framework: WebDriverIO, Cucumber, Selenium WebDriver, Selenium Grid.

Reporting tools: Allure, Extent Report

Language: JavaScript, Java

API testing tools: Postman/Swagger, JMeter, REST API.

CI tool: Jenkins, CircleCI

Version control: Git, GitHub, Sourcetree
