Junior Software Developer at Hastings Direct

You'll play an integral part of the Underwriting team, helping Hastings Direct on our journey to be the best and biggest digital insurance provider.

About you;

• Demonstrated proficiency in Python programming, with a strong coding background in either academic or commercial environments.
• Essential requirement: Expertise in Python fundamentals.
• Desirable: Experience with version control systems such as Git, demonstrating a solid understanding of collaborative development practices.
• Desirable: Proven track record in designing, developing, and testing Python applications, showcasing a comprehensive grasp of software development life cycle.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and active involvement in contributing to project delivery using Agile practices is considered advantageous.
• Exhibits an innovative mindset, constantly seeking opportunities to optimize processes and enhance workflow efficiency.

It’s a very exciting time for us; we’re transforming our business to become a truly digital first insurer, and we’re looking for a Junior Python Developer to join us on our journey.

We’d love to talk to any individuals who are passionate about Computer Science/Software Development and have strong Python skills.

You'll play an integral part of the Underwriting team, helping Hastings Direct on our journey to be the best and biggest digital insurance provider.

You'll get the opportunity to work within the Underwriting Product Development Team and you'll be directly involved in projects that will drive forward Hastings Direct's ambition to reach the top.

About the role;

• Use Python programming language to develop and deliver changes from stakeholders into a Live Pricing Environment for our Car, Bike, Commercial Vehicle and Household Products
• Deliver BAU updates and project work to agreed time frames
• Manage Stakeholders
• Assess and feedback the feasibility of alternative solutions where appropriate
