Junior .NET/SQL Server Analyst at RL Canning

The Junior .Net/SQL Server Analyst will be responsible for moving over 50 applications written in VB6 to V.Net on the frontend and SQL Server on the backend.

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on technical experience with various technologies including SQL Server and .NET as well as other languages.
• Hands-on development, analysis, architecture, data modeling, procedures, best practices, and technical support.
• Databases: SQL Server (2008 – Current), SQL Server (2008 – Current)
• Microsoft Technologies: .NET, VBA
• Experience with legacy Visual Basic 6 applications in continuous operation and increased functionality, identifying opportunities to migrate to current environments.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good team player with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the development process.
• Experience working in agile methodology, providing L3 support, and working as part of a geographically distributed team.
• Ability to travel as needed.

About the Role

The Junior .Net/SQL Server Analyst will be responsible for moving over 50 applications written in VB6 to V.Net on the frontend and SQL Server on the backend.

Responsibilities

• Plans, designs, codes, verifies, tests, documents, amends, and refactors complex applications, programs, and scripts.
• Assisting with the migration of VB6 Applications to the most current supported version.
• Working with stakeholders to migrate legacy systems.
• Supporting and reviewing existing client application environments to improve performance and bring them into the industry and organizational standardized best practices.
• Troubleshooting and correcting application issues as needed.
• Assisting with going-forward best practices for utilization of implemented technology.
• Other duties as assigned.
