Junior Full-Stack Developer - Video Library at Panopto

Panopto is seeking a junior full-stack software developer to join our Video Library team. The team owns the video content management system used by the 10+ million end users of Panopto.

About You*

You don’t have to check all the boxes, but these are some of the skills and experiences we think are important for this role:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field or an equivalent amount of experience or training in industry
• Computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, parallel or distributed systems
• Software engineering skills: componentization, automated testing, debugging, and coding/designing for fault tolerance
• Experience working on complex projects in a professional environment, preferably with a focus on C# or Java development
• Experience in frontend technologies: Javascript and/or Typescript, HTML, CSS
• Clear and concise communication skills

• Customer focus and a love for solving customer problems
• Ability to rapidly prototype ideas and code for production
• Collaborating with others to build something with lasting impact.
• A love for learning, near-insatiable technical curiosity, a desire to grow and to help improve the team around you.
• Extra credit areas of knowledge
• Experience with React and/or ASP.NET
• Technical design skills in backend and high-scale systems
• Cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure at a devops level
• Relational database expertise - developing in the data layer and writing ad-hoc queries

Description

Panopto is seeking a junior full-stack software developer to join our Video Library team. The team owns the video content management system used by the 10+ million end users of Panopto. This spans the frontend interfaces and related backend APIs that our team builds and maintains. We are looking for someone with solid technical chops, who cares about building up intuitive experiences, and goes the extra mile to deliver high quality work.

About the Role

As a junior full-stack developer, you will be tasked with creating the interface components that power Panopto’s video library functionality and their backend supporting APIs. You will have opportunities to build new core experiences and design the front-end architectural cornerstones that will support our user interfaces through their next stage of evolution.

This position requires a mix of backend and frontend software engineering skills, drawing on experience coding and doing technical designs in high scale systems. Ideal candidates have an excellent attention to detail and desire to get to the bottom of how things work, a drive to take action and improve things where they can, a natural focus on ensuring an excellent customer experience, and a willingness to work across the technical stack to accomplish their goals.
