Skills & Qualifications:

• Understanding of Microsoft DevOps or other similar tools
• Degree in technical, mathematics, or science preferred, or related experience
• Programming experience in one or more programming languages, preference given to C#/Java, Python, or JavaScript
• Understanding of Agile and SCRUM project management methodologies
• Experience with git or other source code management systems
• Experience with cloud-based infrastructure, preference given to Microsoft Azure
• Solid communication skills with experience translating complex technical processes or problems to non-technical language
• Experience with relational database and SQL

About the Junior DevOps Engineer:

MarketStar is looking for a technology savvy individual with experience in Microsoft DevOps and Azure to work on the development team. Your primary role will be to help deploy new releases for key development projects at MarketStar.

Location: Remote - US

What will you do?

• Building and setting up new development tools and infrastructure
• Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes, primarily via Microsoft DevOps system
• Testing and examining code written by others and analyzing results
• Ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats, primarily focused on Azure infrastructure and services
• Identifying technical problems and developing software updates and ‘fixes’
• Working with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended
• Working with management to plan releases and major changes
• Understand patch cycle for libraries, packages, etc. used by development team, incorporating updates into future releases as needed
• Responsible for running weekly change approval meetings (CAB), documenting decisions for SOC2 and ISO 27001 purposes
• Communicate releases to users and management
