Junior DevOps Engineer at Care.com

The DevOps team is responsible for the tooling and automation underlying the Care.com cloud infrastructure, along with the CI/CD pipeline, monitoring, support, and management of services and applications.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

• 2+ years's experience writing Infrastructure as Code and/or in configuration management tools (Ansible, Terraform/Terrascript, and CDK)
• Solid AWS, Python, and bash scripting skill.
• Experience working with Git and managing PR-based workflows on a platform like Github.
• Strong written communication skills, and comfort with chat tools (e.g. Slack) as a primary means of communication
• Experience with CI/CD toolchains and automation (Jenkins, Harness, SonarQube, JFrog/Artifactory + X-Ray) is a plus.
• Experience with Ruby on Rails is a plus.

What Your Days Will be Like:

• The DevOps team is responsible for the tooling and automation underlying the Care.com cloud infrastructure, along with the CI/CD pipeline, monitoring, support, and management of services and applications.
• This role is focused on a business vertical of the technology platform for our out-of-home provider network: the products and systems that power our relationships with daycare and family childcare centers, preschools, camp providers, and other businesses providing services outside the home.

What You'll Be Working On:

• Support the infrastructure set up to support Ruby on Rails application.
• Support QA and Engineering in troubleshooting application issues and deployments.
• Work with the Security Engineering and Compliance teams to ensure that compliance requirements around deployment processes are understood and met.
• Write and maintain documentation around operational and architectural aspects of the Care.com DevOps processes.
• Collaborate with the DevOps team on developing automation tools.
• Participate in a 24x7 on call rotation to provide escalation support, and incident response management.
