Preferred Skills/Experience

• React (familiarity with newer React concepts such as hooks and Suspense a plus)
• Node JS/Express and the general JS back end ecosystem
• SQL/NoSQL, particularly Postgres and Redis
• Containerization experience (Docker or similar)
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Experience working and communicating with other developers as well as non-developers such as support personnel, designers, etc.
• Enthusiastic, friendly, and helpful demeanor

Nice to Have Skills/Experience

• General front end experience (React, Angular, Vue, vanilla JavaScript, and general front end concepts)
• CSS/markup experience (architecting markup/CSS for large projects using patterns such as BEM)
• App development experience (native or hybrid, iOS especially)
• Stripe/Braintree/Paypal API experience (or other similar payment systems)
• Analytics/marketing platform experience (Segment/Hubspot in particular)

Experience:

• React: 1 year (Preferred)

The Role

Deskpass is a driven team with experience rooted in app development, design, digital marketing, and coworking space management.

We’re looking for a junior developer candidate who to start will help with various smaller tasks around the Deskpass ecosystem including:

• Diagnosing and troubleshooting customer support issues
• Diagnosing and troubleshooting billing issues
• Fixing bugs within the Deskpass app and other Deskpass projects
• Working on general maintenance and upkeep of the Deskpass platform
• Working on general feature requests within the Deskpass platform, front end and back end
• Working on tasks related to marketing/analytics
• With time you can expect to grow into a larger role within Deskpass, working on larger feature additions, having direct input on higher-level development decisions, etc.

Location & Availability

This role is fully remote.

Communication

Communication will be through online channels (Slack or otherwise) as well as voice communication as needed (Skype/phone/Google Hangout/etc.). Daily check-ins are expected, with frequency, duration and time varying based on current workload and project deadlines.

Management

This role will report directly to the Chief Technology Officer

Compensation

This role has a base salary commensurate with 1-2 years of Junior Developer experience.
