Jr. Web Developer at Rocket55

The web developer is responsible for working with designers, developers, and Project Managers to turn design mockups into PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for information-rich WordPress sites.

What we’re looking for

• 1-2 years experience developing websites in WordPress
• Strong CSS3, HTML5, & JavaScript knowledge
• Working knowledge of PHP, MySQL, & LAMP technologies
• Strong understanding of Sass, Gulp, & Git
• Experience with WordPress or other content management systems

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with Bootstrap, Advanced Custom Fields
• Experience with JavaScript frameworks
• Familiarity with WooCommerce or Shopify
• Familiarity with email development (MJML or similar)
• Knowledge of web standards, accessibility (WCAG), and cross-browser compatibility
• Basic understanding of technical & semantic SEO best-practices

Description

Your Role:

The web developer is responsible for working with designers, developers, and Project Managers to turn design mockups into PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for information-rich WordPress sites. You should have at least 1-2 years of experience developing responsive websites. As Rocket55 is a full-service digital agency, you will also be responsible for building out landing pages for paid campaigns, optimizing sites for page speed, and performing website maintenance, etc.

Responsibilities:

• Develop fully functional WordPress sites from the provided design mockups
• Build performant and attractive web applications in modern JavaScript, HTML and CSS.
• Construct user interfaces that you yourself would want to use.
• Collaborate with designers but embrace and leverage your own UI/UX intuition and experience.
• Integrate with both internal and external APIs.
• Write clean, well-documented, and tested code
• Architect, implement, and maintain performant, easy-to-use web applications using current technologies and frameworks
