  • College degree or the equivalent of 1-2 years of experience in digital design, preferably as a member of a team
  • Fluency with HTML and CSS
  • Experience with common design software (Adobe Creative Suite and Sketch)
  • Understanding of how to design and build for multiple screens, platforms and channels
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills, and a willingness to ask questions
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects to deliver results and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with design team members, developers and business partners
  • Humility and recognition that you don't have all the answers
  • Adaptability and an enthusiasm for continuous learning
  • Creativity, imagination and a sense of humor

VALUABLE EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in digital design or related field
  • Familiarity with JavaScript
  • Knowledge of version control systems (Subversion, Git)
  • Knowledge of content management systems (Drupal, WordPress, etc)
  • Experience working in an agile environment
  • Interest and participation in professional industry groups, conferences

Description

As a key member of the User Experience and Design Team, the Junior (Jr) User Experience (UX) Visual Designer works with other UX designers and developers to help the UX team create consistent user-friendly solutions that pair user/customer needs with business goals. This role is responsible for providing user-centered design thinking and problem solving as it applies to completing updates to existing digital solutions.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Complete revision requests and minor updates to websites, emails and digital assets
  • Create digital components for multiple screens, platforms and channels (web, email, mobile, social media)
  • Update design files to integrate business requirements and changes
  • Work with the email marketing team to create emails and templates
  • Select and optimize design resource files including photography and illustrations
  • Communicate with business partners to refine revision requests
  • Collaborate with designers and developers to document standards and processes
  • Suggest ways to increase efficiency and consistency of designs
  • Ensure that designs and code are accessible to all users
  • Occasionally design new creative assets and layouts, and participate in user research activities
  • Occasionally collaborate on larger projects with other members of the UX Design Team
