A Junior Developer is an integral team member, serving as a primary database developer for CorVel’s Enterprise Comp Solution implementations.


Essential Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a minimum of 2 years professional experience as a SW Engineer
  • Microsoft SQL server programming ability (T-SQL or other query languages)
  • Understanding the fundamentals of relational databases
  • Experience with Microsoft .NET framework
  • Technical aptitude for learning systems and technical processes
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Adept at thriving in a fast pace environment with firm deadlines
  • Analytical problem solving and resolution skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage details and timelines for multiple simultaneous complex implementations
  • Ability to work with technical and non-technical team members with varying communication styles, both locally and remote
  • Advanced abilities in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Accurate typing skills, 65 WPM or higher
  • Professional interpersonal and communications skills, verbal and written

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with SQL Server Integration Services
  • Knowledge of project management tools and practices


Description

A Junior Developer is an integral team member, serving as a primary database developer for CorVel’s Enterprise Comp Solution implementations. They create the database programming which allows CorVel to successfully onboard new customers. They also oversee many of the onboarding details for new customers and are responsible for driving action items critical to timely and accurate account setups. The Junior Developer works with all offices of the organization including Account Management, Customer Configurations, Software Development, and Executive Management, verifying requirements, building the database routines and other deliverables with an exceptional level of customer service and professionalism.

Qualified candidates for this position are technical thinkers, highly organized, detail-oriented, adaptable to frequently changing priorities and able to work independently and in multiple team settings. They must have outstanding communication, critical thinking, and technical skills, as well as the ability to build cooperative relationships via email and phone.

Major responsibilities include:

  • Onboarding and Implementation of new customers into our system
  • Importing Data received from customers to our SQL databases
  • Importing Image Data received from customers
  • Review and understand our manual image load process with the goal of migrating it into an automated process
  • Review, understand and interpret claim data submitted in varying formats from prior vendors
  • Creating and testing SQL stored procedures to load customer data
  • Scripting data corrections to address anomalies in our loading system, following business rules
  • Implement workflow automations for repetitive team tasks
  • Coordinating multiple implementations while maintaining accurate details
  • Maintain accurate project schedules using established tools
  • Communicate project scope, schedule, and deliverables to all levels of the organization
  • Become a Subject Matter Expert for CorVel applications and programs as they relate to Enterprise Comp Solutions
  • Troubleshoot claim load issues in downstream systems
  • Define new features needed for claim load systems to enhance workflow
  • Perform technical analysis of vendor data to ensure load accuracy (QA)
  • Build and report metrics for implementation performance over time
  • Facilitate data file transfers between multiple vendors, field teams and IT groups via network drives, customer FTP sites, and other secure media devices
  • Communicate technical data, issues, solutions and process-related information to non-technical teams
  • Maintain project implementation documentation including meeting notes, timelines, requirements, and stakeholders
  • Serve as a central communications and documentation contact for implementations
